Director Zack Snyder reveals an unexpected insight that his upcoming two-part space opera filmRebel Moonand his Netflix zombie film franchiseArmy of the Deadshare the same cinematic universe.
While elaborating Snyder says that hisArmy of the Deadhas a pretty vast mythology that never made it into that film.

Army of the Deadwas Supposed to Have an Animated Series Continuation
In a new interview with Total Film (viaGames Radar),Zack Snyderwent on to say how his filmArmy of the Deadand the upcomingRebel Moonshare a secret connection.
He also mentioned that it was supposed to have aRebel Mooncharacter in theArmy of the Deadanimated series, though it never happened.
“Army of the Dead has a pretty vast mythology that never made it into the movie. There’s actually a character from Rebel Moon in the animated series that we never did,”Snyder stated.
“We did all the scripts and the animatics, and all the voices are recorded. So you could watch it, even in its crazy animatic form – you can watch the whole run.”
Snyder thought of releasing a Netflix animated seriesArmy of the Dead: Lost Vegas, a spinoff of hisArmy of the Deadfilms. But, the series also never came out. He said:
“At one point in the show, they go through a portal into another dimension, and there are characters in that other dimension that they come across. In Rebel Moon, they’re in this bar, and one of the aliens is one of the characters from the animatic. So it’s definitely a shared universe.”
TheArmy of the Deadseries started in 2021 with theArmy of the Deadmovie, starring Dave Bautista and Ella Purnell.

Zack Snyder, the director behind films such as300, andMan of Steelis set to release his next film,Rebel Moon, an epic sci-fi adventure that follows a young woman named Kora (Sofia Boutella), who is tasked with finding warriors to join her cause, as she leads a rebellion against a tyrannical ruler.
Earlier, Snyder said that this would be his tribute to his favorite sci-fi films such asStar Warsas well as his inspiration Akira Kurosawa. He said toThe Hollywood Reporter
“This is me growing up as an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan; This is me growing up as an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan. It’s my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure. My hope is that this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out… I’ve spent the last two or three years building out this universe. Every corner has to be painted in. I’ve been doing designs, constantly drawing, and really cultivating its fertile ground to make this world fully realized.”
