One Piecehave been one of the longest-running anime with a great storyline and a massive fan base. Luffy and Zoro’s duo have been one of the most iconic ones ever made in the history of anime. Zoro has been the closest friend of Luffy from the start ofOne Piece. They have fought several battles by each other’s side and have a deep connection of brotherhood. Despite being such great allies, it was in Chapter 438 of the manga when Zoro gets so frustrated that he threatens Luffy regarding leaving the Straw Hats because of a particular character’s reckless actions.

Why does Zoro threaten to leave the Straw Hats in One Piece?
As chapter 438 of theOne Piecemanga starts, Sanji informs the crew about Usopp, which makes Luffy, Chopper, and Nami decide to get him back. However, Zoro objects to their decision and explains that it was Usopp who started the fight and lost. If Luffy were to overlook all his actions and let him join the crew back without a single word of apology, then the Straw Hats would break apart.
Following this, Zoro also threatens Luffy about leaving the crew if he doesn’t handle this ordeal seriously. He slams his swords on the ground to Nami’s failed attempt to calm him down. Zoro explains that he can’t trust someone who leaves and joins the Straw Hats like it’s a joke. Sanji stands with Zoro when he proposes that he will let him rejoin but will leave if he makes an excuse.Luffyalso accepts this perspective of handling the matter.

Usopp arrives mid-fight when Straw Hats are trying to protect their ship from Garp and is caught off-guard on seeing them leave without him. Straw Hats didn’t pay heed to him as they were too focused on defending their ship. Usopp expresses his wishes, that he wants to join them back, and that they should be grateful because he is Captain Usopp. However, a sudden realization dawns upon him as he reminisces Luffy’s words, saying he was just a burden to the crew all this while. On the ground of friendship, he requests them to let him join back. However, his requests go unheard by Luffy and Zoro, despite Chopper shouting.
He started wondering if that was the last time he was seeing them. As he is ready to accept the final farewell, Luffy yells out that he is sorry for everything. Usopp apologizes for his actions and requests them to let him join the Straw Hats back. Luffy offers his hand to him with tears in his eyes and calls him stupid. Zoro reverts back and calls Luffy the stupid one as Nami adds that both of them are idiots, with tears of delight rolling down her eyes.
