As Johnny Depp continues to rock his post-trial phase, he was recently seen in the trailer of this year’s Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The trailer which featured the Jack Sparrow fame trolling himself garnered immense attraction from his fans. Not only the fans but even the director of the trailer also spoke highly about the actor and how he pulled off the role with absolute ease.
Johnny Depp was absent from projects for a long time due to his legal troubles that were going on against his ex-wife Amber Heard. But as soon as he won the defamation trial, the star came back with full liveliness and took no time to get back the love he got from his fans.

Johnny Depp shines in the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival trailer
Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is one of the oldest and most notable film events held in the city of the Czech Republic. It is renowned for its iconic trailers which have featured some iconic stars like Mel Gibson, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Andy Garcia, Danny DeVito. and Jude Law.
The 2023 edition featuredJohnny Depptrolling himself for not getting a crystal globe ever in his career.
The trailer starts with thePirates of the Caribbeanfame entering Hotel Gellért in Budapest with a guitar case for his interview. The actor then faced a very awkward situation when asked by the interviewer why didn’t he receive an award ever-“Literally everyone who goes (to the festival) gets an award, but you didn’t.”To it, the actor weirdly replies“I didn’t?”before pulling out an award from his guitar case and stating:
“We’re here to talk about music, really.”
Johnny Depp attended the Film Festival earlier in 2021 as the guest of honor where he also presented two movies he produced –Crock of Gold: A Few Rounds With Shane MacGowanandMinamata.But unfortunately, the actor couldn’t bag any award which is being made fun of.

The director Ivan Zachariáš stated that he didn’t expect theEdward Scissorhandsstar to not only nail the trailer but also elevate its standard.

The makers praise Johnny Depp for his KVIFF trailer
The director of the KVIFF trailer Ivan Zachariáš has also worked earlier in several trailers for the event. He couldn’t speak less to praise how perfectly the 60-year-old star improvised it and added his flawless touch.
“Right at the start of the shoot he told me that he would prefer to improvise. I was initially a bit taken aback, but it turned out to be a great idea, since Johnny ended up putting even more of his own personality into the trailer.”
The Executive Director of the event Kryštof Mucha also spoke highly about Johnny Depp and expressed his interest in watching the actor live in the upcoming years. This acted as another seal of achievement for the star who was also subjected to a standing ovation in the latest Cannes Film Festival for his upcomingJeanne Du Barry.
