The world may have seen several superheroes brought to the big screen from the pages of comic books, but only a few have had an impact on our culture as much as Spider-Man. With the recent films that featured Tom Holland as the titular web-slinger, the popularity and appeal of the superhero have shot through the roof.
The world had to say goodbye to the character and the star when he made his last appearance inSpider-Man: No Way Home. But now, we have confirmation from an industry insider that points to the fact that there is indeed a new Spider-Man project in the works. And what’s more, we also have the date of when the production of the new film can most likely begin.
Sony’sSpider-Man 4Is Set To Start Production Very Soon
For a long while, Sony has made countless efforts to create a successful Spider-Man franchise, and their attempts like the originalSpider-Mantrilogy andThe Amazing Spider-Manseries have seen success among the audience. But when Marvel Studios took over and broughtTom Hollandas the new web-slinger, the character was finally able to get up on his feet.
Now, as the superhero finally returns to Sony after the end of its tenure with the cinematic juggernaut, fans have another reason to rejoice.
In a recent report provided by industry insider Daniel Richtman, he confirms that there is indeed aSpider-Man 4which is still in its pre-production phase and will be part of the MCU as stated by him. He has also revealed that the estimated time when we can expect to see the film go into production is somewhere around late 2024 date, most probably within the Holiday season.

Since Richtman has the reputation of being one of the most reliable sources of inside information in the industry, it’s safe to assume that this report is fairly accurate as well, which is a welcome surprise from Sony. Since the company will be taking over a new project involving the friendly neighborhood superhero after nine years, it’ll be interesting to see what they bring to the table.
What To Expect FromSpider-Man 4?
At this point, the film doesn’t even have a definitive name for itself, so knowing what the film will be all about is kind of impossible. Still, there are some pointers that can direct us to what we can expect in the upcoming film.
Since Sony has been creating its own cinematic universe, called the Spider-Verse, with characters from Spider-Man’s storylines, we can expect a lot of new crossovers from those projects. The highly expected storyline that most fans are hoping for is the confrontation of Eddie Brock and Peter Parker in the future, which can also point to the cameo of Tom Hardy as Venom in the post-credit scene ofSpider-Man: Far From Home.
