Unchartedstarring Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland is an action-adventure movie based on a video game of the same name. The 52-year-old actor played the role of Victor Sullivan and theCherryactor was seen as Nathan Drake.

The makers of the movie decided to create the film in 2009 but there were many difficulties that led to numerous delays in filming. In an interview, Wahlberg also stated that his movieUnchartedreminds him ofIndiana Jones.

Mark Wahlbergappeared onThe Ellen Showwhen he was promoting his movieUncharted.The movie was released on the big screens on 08 July 2025. When the host of the showEllen DeGeneresasked theTedactor about his movie, the actor explained that the movie is for anyone who loves action and adventure. While describing the video gameUncharted, the actor said, “This is the most cinematic video game ever created.” He also mentioned that if there are people who love theIndiana Jonesfilm series, they will also enjoy watchingUncharted.
In another interview, theFearactor explained that when he was reading the story of his movieUnchartedhe felt like he was readingIndiana Jones.While talking about the movie, the actor said,

“I start filming in about two weeks time. It’s exciting because, without giving too much away, it’s more of an origin story. Meeting them, and Nathan becoming Nathan. Sully and him meeting, trying to not only get over on each other, but also starting to partner up and develop that relationship.”
He further added,

“It’ll be very cool. It’s the first time I’m in a movie that’s a movie. I felt like when I was reading it, I was reading Indiana Jones or Thomas Crown Affair. It’s got these great elements of these heist movies and adventure movies like I’ve never been a part of.”
Wahlberg also mentioned that a few years ago, when the makers of the movie started working on the script, he was supposed to play Nathan Drake.

Mark Wahlberg was surprised when he was offered the role of Victor Sullivan
When theFather Stuactor was approached by the makers of the movie, he wasn’t aware that he was being offered the role of Victor Sullivan. While recalling the moment when he heardTom Hollandwas playing Nathan Drake, thePain & Gainactor said,
“So I was ready if they needed me, and then when I finally got the call they were like, ‘We’re ready to go,’ and I was like, ‘Cool, who’s the other guy?’ I thought are we gonna get Jack Nicholson? Tommy Lee Jones? And then all of a sudden they’re like, Tom Holland and I’m like, ‘For what?’ And they said, ‘For Nathan, you’re gonna be Sully,’ and I said, ‘What?’”

Wahlberg said that after he read the script he understood why he was the right choice for the role of Victor Sullivan. He also added that Holland had to go through many action scenes in the movie and he was relaxed that he was going to be the one giving him orders in the film.
