Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal of Black Panther remains iconic to date; his version left an impression on the fans which was much to be remembered. When the question of how to honor his character after the actor’s untimely death came to be, the fans were seen to be divided into two different poles. On one end, they wanted to see someone else become Black Panther, keeping the character of T’Challa to be untouched; while another section wanted Chadwick Boseman’s character to be replaced.

The Petition To See Someone Else Play T’Challa Still Stays Strong For Black Panther Fans

Even withBlack Panther: Wakanda Forevershowing no sign of the character of T’Challa being replaced, the story of the movie is said to focus on its aspect of being a Marvel production including superheroes and villains as well as action sequences, its main idea would be to understand and deal with grief and loss.

It is said to be leaps ahead in terms of being self-aware. The movie is also meant to have ignored the dispute among the fans and taken its direction as to how they want to continue the legacy ofChadwick Bosemanand his portrayal of T’Challa. Fans, however, have been split on this idea. They claim that Marvel’s outlook on grief is unimportant to them and they only want to see T’Challa re-casted. Much to the contrary,Wandavision’sapproach towards grief was what multiple fans had been searching for the majority of their lives.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever continues Boseman’s legacy

“What is grief if not love persevering.”

Vision had said this line to Wanda in the show during a flashback scene, and that had been enough for multiple fans to look back on their grief and learn to accept it.

You can’t use side characters and yet-to-debut characters as examples of black representation in the MCU as if it solves the T’Challa problem. We need strong black male leads that aren’t propped up by their white predecessors. This argument fails to address that.#RecastTChallahttps://t.co/iNIqdLp3J4

IMO, they best honor Chadwick by giving another talented Black actor a chance to play T’Challa the role he brought to life & by prominently including him in the MCU. Killing him a 3rd time makes him a joke & burying the character does nothing for Chadwick’s legacy.#RecastTChallapic.twitter.com/joS7zNdRNl

While many still want to see his legacy of the character to be honored within the franchise as deceased, few still wish to see the enigmatic character still jumping and kicking around, just with a new face.

Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwould be available to watch in theatres from 11th November 2023.
