During The Game Awards 2023, gamers were both shocked and amazed by another Hideo Kojima game reveal calledOD (Overdose). Although there hasn’t been a lot of information released regarding this game, it does look like it will be a horror-favorite game that will have players screaming for years.
One shocking twist that players were not expecting is that Hideo Kojima is teaming up with film legend, Jordan Peele, in this completely unique horror experience. So far, we do not know a lot of details behind the actual project itself, but if Kojima’s other projects likeP.T. are anything to go by, then horror fans will be screaming for two reasons.
What Was Revealed During the OD Trailer at The Game Awards 2023?
During The Game Awards 2023, there was a rather short teaser trailer that was shown for the upcoming gameOD, but it spoke volumes and left many with more questions than answers. According to Hideo Kojima himself, this will be a completely different experience for gamers, as it will be a game, but also a film at the same time.
Throughout the trailer, there are a few different people who are shown repeating one specific line, which sounds like complete and utter jibberish. Nevertheless, it will most likely have major importance within the actual game itself once it actually releases.
As the trailer progresses, we can see that the mental state of these people begins to decline as they struggle to say what they are required to say. Eventually leading to a moment of pure silence, a creaky door begins to open, leading to a woman screaming in pure terror.
This is the visual aspect of the game trailer that we have been shown, but it leaves a rather gripping atmosphere, as no one knows what caused the woman to scream. We also don’t know why they are saying what they are saying, which led to all sorts of questions that gamers are eager to answer.
Once this is all over, we are left with a tag-line that seems rather fitting for the game as it reads “For All Players And Screamers.” This likely had many waiting at the edge of their seats as this is probably theSilent Hillexperience Hideo Kojima was working on, but wrapped in a completely different package. For obvious reasons, after the trailer gamers are eager to jump right in.
Which Actors Will Be Involved in This New Project From Hideo Kojima?
Even though Jordan Peele is working in collaboration with Hideo Kojima, it hasn’t been announced if he will be taking up an acting role or just working solely director/writer. However, within this new project, it has been announced that there will be a select group of actors and actresses who work on the project, with more to be announced.
Within the teaser trailer, three names have been dropped, and those are Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier. Each of these actors and actresses will have their own role to play within the game’s story, but as to how much of a role that is, we do not know yet.
According to Hideo Kojima, there are most likely more names to come for this list, as he and Peele are currently putting together a team to work on this project, which Kojima has dubbed the Avengers, but no other announcements have been made just yet.
At the moment, this is all the information that has been revealed forOD, and that is unsurprising as Kojima is usually quite cryptic with his announcements. However, many in the gaming community will definitely be looking forward to this game, no matter how long it takes to come, as gamers are still awaitingP.T.,even though it will never arrive.
