The Boysis a true masterpiece. While this word is thrown around too freely, it is rightfully used in this particular instance. Being a near-perfect series it seems like everything showcased and done in this is intentional and in some way, a satirical social commentary for the real world. On top of this, the show features excellently written characters and a well-paced story. The biggest example of this is that of Homelander.

Homelander in The Boys

Being one of the most terrifying villains to feature in all of cinema, anytime he graces the screen, the audience is on edge. On top of being mentally unstable and all his actions being dictated by his insecurities, he is also indestructible and merciless. As if he could not get more powerful, the recent trailer for the fourth season of the series shows a new superpower that the Super has gained, and it will only get worse for Billy Butcher and the boys after this.

Homelander Will Get Even More Powerful

The one thingThe Boysis good at doing is adapting things from the comics in the most perfect way possible. Homelander’s character, for example, couldn’t be better executed. Despite this, there was one thing that the fans were missing from the comics for this character. While it is safe to say that he is very overpowered, being able to fly, having superhuman strength, being destructible, having laser eyes, and a human lie detector, there was one power that was left out of the live-action version of him.

In the comics, his character possessed the ability to use Sonic Scream on his opponent. this was inspired by the DC character, the Black Canary, who is able to use the Canary scream to her advantage and damage the ears of her opponents. Similar to this, Homelander can rupture the eardrums of anyone just by screaming, having vocal cords 20 times stronger than a regular human being.

Homelander’s Abilities Will Be Used More Freely

This can be a very dangerous power for a character like Homelander to have to have, especially considering where we left him off at the end of the third season ofThe Boys. The one thing that constantly held the character back was his desperate, need to get the approval of the masses. They stopped him from going all out with his power and doing things in the dark rather than in the daylight. This changed at the end of the third season, with his character, killing someone in the middle of the day during a rally, after which crowds cheered.

It can be expected that now his character has no excuse to hold back, meaning he will understand the true extent of his power. As showcased in thetrailer of the fourth season, there is a new power that we see, that of the sonic scream. Since he will be able to use his powers, more freely and not have much holding him back, with him running Vought at this point, it is expected that we will see new sides of the character, which is all the more horrifying.
