Robert Pattinson’s talent when it comes to acting was something that was not appreciated until deep into his career. Barry Keoghan Loved His Performance
Robert Pattinsonand Barry Keoghan worked together, in the DC Universe, both cast in the roles of the Batman and the Joker respectively. The two gave an interview toWonderland Magazine,where they had a conversation about directors that they wanted to work with at some point in their careers. It was here that Keoghan mentioned that he really wanted to work with the Safdie Brothers. Benny Safdie and Josh Safdie have been responsible for some very critically acclaimed projects, among which lies the crime-thriller,Good Time.
“I’ve got to work with amazing directors. I know you worked with the Safdies. I’d love to work with the Safdie Brothers and Barry Jenkins. There’s quite a few. Lynne Ramsay, I really love her as well. But I’d love to work with the Safdies, man. I feckin’ loved ‘Good Time.’ That was unreal, man. Just electrifying from you as well.”

Keoghan mentioned that he was aware that Pattinson worked with the two in the past in the 2017 film and added that he loved their work and loved this film a lot. He mentioned that his entire watching experience for this film was one that was completely surreal and electric for him, which is something said by many about this film.

This Made Matt Reeves Want Robert Pattinson as Batman
Good Timewas a pivotal moment in the career of Robert Pattinson for many different reasons. It marked a moment where he went from an actor who played the role of a teenager’s crush, to a serious actor who put forth a ridiculously good performance in a ridiculously good film. This was something that was noticed by many, who fell in love with the actor in a whole new and different way. Amongst this was also the highly respect filmmaker, who was responsible for the films filmWar Of The Planet Of The Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,andCloverfield,and was also in charge of directing the newBatmanfilm.
“In the process of writing the movie, I watched ‘Good Time,’ and I thought, ‘Okay, he’s got an inner kind of rage that connects with this character and a dangerousness, and I can feel this desperation.’ And I became dead-set on it being Rob,”Reeves told.“And I had no idea if Rob had any interest! Because, of course, he had done all of these indie movies after he established himself in ‘Twilight.’”

As revealed toEmpireby the filmmaker when he was writingThe Batman, he watched this film. Upon seeing Pattinson’s performance in this, he was immediately sure of who he wanted to play this role. He mentioned his reason for this, stating that he saw a sense of rage and desperation that was perfectly executed by the actor. He knew that this was something common with the character of Bruce Wayne and found him to be the perfect fit for the role.
