After losing the verdict in court,Amber Hearddisappeared for a few months as she moved to Spain. After relocating to Madrid, where she started a life with her 2-year-old daughter, Oonagh Paige, she “has new energy and is focused on things that she loves,” as per some outlets.

A year after the verdict of her controversial defamation trial with ex-husbandJohnny Depp, theAquamanstar presented her new filmIn the Fireat Italy’s Taormina Film Festival and came across as relaxed and happy. The appearance comes amid speculation that Heard is quitting Hollywood in the wake of the online circus that the lawsuit caused.
“It’s a beautiful movie about the almost supernatural effect and force of love,“ Heard said. “It is about the boundaries that love can cross and its creation, and really about the overwhelming power that love has. I don’t want to sound cheesy about it, but it’s a movie about love.”
In the supernatural thriller, Heard plays a “pioneering psychiatrist who sets out to treat a desperate child at a time when psychiatry is not yet a respected science,” per a press release.
Heard seems to be optimistic about the future and enthused about her upcoming projects, including her return as Mera in the much-awaitedAquaman and the Lost Kingdom, despite the trial’s judgment.
