There’s a reason that Arnold Schwarzenegger is a bodybuilding legend. The 7-time Mr. Olympia champion has been widely considered the benchmark for achieving fitness goals. With rippling muscles and a dynamic metabolism to match, Schwarzenegger has been one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars spanning many decades and has cemented his place in the big leagues with iconic films likeTerminator, Predator, Commando, and many more.

Interestingly though, Schwarzenegger who is considered the last word in bodybuilding and fitness, has reportedly never been able to develop one of the key physical features of a bodybuilder namely the famous six-pack abs that every fitness freak craves to have. A few scientific studies on the internet have detailed the various reasons for this.

Why Arnold Schwarzenegger Can Never Have A Six-Pack
For any fitness enthusiast who wishes to develop his or her body, the ultimate aim is to have the classic washboard abs which is a sign of supreme fitness. While it is assumed that a celebrity likeArnold Schwarzeneggeris the kind of role model to be followed, studies have shown that theTrue Liesstar in fact possesses only four-pack abs and not six-pack abs.
According to a scientific report, the fascia which is a connective tissue in the body, determines the number of packs one can have. A greater presence of this tissue will result in more packs. Though Schwarzenegger’s stomach has two rows of abs that are prominent, a closer look reveals that the third row which would complete the six-pack is barely prominent. A netizen elaborated on this inLadBiblesaying,

“The amount of abs you may attain is purely determined by genetics. While 6 packs are the most common, some bodybuilders such as Schwarzenegger can only attain a 4 pack. This is due to humans being born with different amounts of fascia bands. The most you can have is a 10 pack, which is rare.”
Evidently, the lack of six-packs has done little to deter Arnold Schwarzenegger from becoming one of the most popular action superstars in Hollywood who is still an inspiration to many in his 70s.
