The curse of live-action anime adaptations has been broken byOne Piece. Fans have shown their enthusiasm for the series in the same way that they do for the manga and anime. Many people praised the first season’s performances, graphics, plot, and characters. The best part of the series was how the cast was able to enact their given characters providing the fans a sense of satisfaction. Among them, one of the most loved characters was Zoro and the actor Mackenyu who nailed the role to perfection.

Mackenyu adapted the character so proficiently that he even got to understand the mindset of Zoro and what would be his hobbies and pastimes in the series. When asked about it, Mackenyu’s answer was spot on and it was nothing related to work.

Roronoa Zoro’s Hobby According to Mackenyu
In an interview shared byWiredon YouTube titled“One Piece Cast Answer 50 of the Most Googled Questions About the Anime & Manga”,the cast of the live-action including Emily Rudd, Iñaki Godoy, Taz Skylar, Mackenyu, and Jacob Romero was asked a bunch of questions about the anime and manga series. Among those questions, one question was“What do all the Straw Hat Pirates do on the ship?”.The best answer was given by Mackenyu which was very interesting and maybe the perfect answer according to Zoro’s personality.
Mackenyu stated:“I(Roronoa Zoro) look for the best spots on the ship to sleep or take a nap, as I am the right-hand man, the first mate and I can do whatever I want.”The answer fits perfectly with Zoro’s personality as he has been often seen sleeping or taking a nap on the ship whenever he wants. Even the creator Eiichiro Oda stated that Zoro sleeps in broad daylight but there is a reason for it.

Zoro’s Reason For Sleeping Anywhere Anytime
Roronoa Zoro has been often seen sleeping on the ship whenever and wherever he wants. It has been pointed out many times by the fans and there is a reason for it. Zoro is the only member of the crew who is rarely seen participating in activities. We witness Zoro practicing a few times, but he frequently falls asleep in broad daylight. It was stated in an SBS column that Zoro sleeps in broad daylight since he patrols the ship at night. Oda said that Zoro only sleeps for three hours, from 4 to 7 a.m.
Even though he sleeps a lot, he does not sleep properly. Zoro will sleep 3-4 hours at night and then take naps throughout the day to make up the difference.
