Netflix sparked excitement in the One Piece fandom by announcing the completion of One Piece Season 2 filming. It’s rare to see fans getting excited over live-action adaptations since they are usually met with skepticism in the anime community due to past disappointments.

Along with sharing the news of pre-production wrap, Netflix shared a picture taken at the set of Loguetown featuring the Straw Hats. The location is easily recognizable thanks to the banners around it celebrating the 22nd anniversary of the Marines’ victory over the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger.

While the post-production is still underway, fans can expect Season 2 to release in late or early 2026. More details about the series will be revealed in Netflix’s upcoming TUDUM Global Fan Event scheduled for July 16, 2025.

What to Expect from One Piece Live-Action Season 2

Assuming the adaptation does remain true to its source material, Season 2 will cover chapters 96 to 154 from the manga, featuring arcs such as Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Island, and Drum Island.

The Straw Hat crew will finally make it to the Grandline in the season, with their journey becoming even more arduous than ever as the stakes are about to get high from here onward.

This season will primarily set the stage for the next one, which will cover the Alabasta Arc. The most exciting aspect of this season is the introduction of several major characters, including Nico Robin aka Miss All-Sunday, Monkey D. Dragon, Smoker, Tashigi, Vivi aka Miss Wednesday, Crocodile aka Mr. 0, andeveryone’s most-awaited Tony Tony Chopper.

One Piece Season 2 brings along a promising new cast, with Clive Russell being the widely recognized one. Best known for his role as Brynden Tully (the Blackfish) in Game of Thrones, Russell will be portraying Crocus in this installment.

However, Chopper’s casting remains a mystery. A previous teaser showed him reading a book in a library, but no further details have been disclosed. Given his importance in the story, fans are eagerly waiting to see how he will be adapted in the live-action series.

Since Season 1 set a high record in the anime live-action adaptation field, fans are looking forward to its new season. It won’t be long before they release its teaser at upcoming events, alongside its release date.
