Anthony Mackierecently appeared for an interview withInversefor promoting his upcoming series,Twisted Metal.In the interview, the American actor was asked about his take on the whole Jonathan Majors controversy and Mackie became the first MCU star to openly comment about the situation. He said,
“That’s one of the staples of this country. Nothing has been proven about this dude. Nothing. So everyone is innocent until proven guilty. That’s all I can say. It’s crazy where we are as a society. But as a country, everyone is innocent until proven guilty.“

Jonathan Majorsis all set to defend himself in a trial on August 3 and it seems like Marvel is just waiting for the result of the trial before they make an official decision about the future of the actor at the studio.

Despite being an integral part of MCU at this point, the studio will be letting go of Jonathan Majors if he is proven guilty at the trial. However, MCU has been really silent so far about the star’s future at the studio as they do not want to create another Johnny Depp and thePirates of the Caribbeansituation and make any premature decisions. Marvel has allegedly also dropped Majors’ name from all their promotional content just as a safeguard for the time being.

From what I’m hearing in the court proceedings, nothing has changed and Majors didn’t do anything wrong. Until that changes, I’m fine with supporting him. Mackie is correct and anyone who takes issue with all of this is either biased, racist or both.

Although Marvel has been silent about the controversial situation, the rest of the world did not take long to cut off ties with Jonathan Majors after his arrest. The actor was dropped from Nadia Latif’s Willem Dafoe starrerThe Man in My Basementand singer/songwriter, Otis Redding’s biopic.
Jonathan Majors will be reprising his role as Kang in season 2 of theLokiseries but the filming of the series has already been completed before the assault allegations came to light. Therefore, the release of the new season ofLokiwon’t be delayed as such and will be released in October later this year on Disney+.
