Family GuyHelped Nicholas Hoult Land The Coveted Role

Nicholas Houltrevealed that during the casting process, Matthew Vaughn asked him to perform some takes in an American accent while portraying the character and also mimic Stewie Griffin fromFamily Guy. Being an avid viewer ofFamily Guy, Hoult was confident in his ability to mimic the character. Hoult said, reflecting on the experience, that this unconventional casting approach might have helped him land the role of Beast, although he wasn’t sure about it.

Hoult toldGQ:

“Matthew Vaughn asked me to do a couple of takes in an American accent as you kind of saw the character. But then also do a take doing an impression of Stewie Griffin from Family Guy. I had watched a lot of Family Guy in my teen years growing up, so I was like, ‘OK, I think I’ve got a pretty good impression of Stewie Griffin lined up. And so I did a whole version of the take as Stewie Griffin and sent it off. So maybe that helped me get the part? I don’t know.”

There’s no confirmation on whether Nicholas Hoult will reprise the role of Beast in future projects. Disney has taken over Fox, which means that theX-Menfranchise might start fresh to bring all characters to the MCU, which previously operated from theX-Menfilms.
