Alaqua Fox as Echo

These projects by Marvel have received their fair share of extensive but valid criticism, from talks of poor pacing and storytelling to having awful VFX and unlikeable characters. This, however, hasn’t seemed to stop the MCU from putting these shows out one after the other. Many are questioning why Marvel continues to produce sub-par content with the release ofEcho, scheduled for November this year.

While fans are over the moon about this news, they couldn’t help but feel disappointed at the number of episodes in the show. While it was originally supposed to have seven episodes, the series cut the number slowly to six and is now finally at five. This isn’t however, the worst of the bad news for the fans of the series as Marvel almost let go of the series entirely.

Marvel Almost Completely Discarded Alaqua Cox’s Disney+ seriesEcho

A source revealed that the Disney+ series,Echo, was supposed to be canceled due to how the series turned out. Apparently, Marvel wasn’t all too happy with the way the series turned out and was planning to give it the same treatment as DC’sBatgirl,a movie that was canceled after it finished production.

“Uh, yeah, well, they… I always get the word of mouth. I heard they were going to ‘Batgirl’ it (Echo), because they weren’t happy with it and now they’re doing reshoots and are planning on airing it. But I think that could also have something to do with the fact that there’s a strike and there’s not a lot of content right now, so like, ‘We have it made already.’”He stated.

This however did not pan out and Marvel ultimately scheduled reshoots to fix the show and then air it all at once. The source believes the reason for this to be the fact that the show was already done and Marvel didn’t want it to go to waste. They also added that the reason for the poor quality of the show could be credited to the Writers Stike taking place in Hollywood right now.

Echois scheduled to release on 02 August 2025 on Disney+.
