James Gunn releasing the DC Universe’s slate had been a big moment both for the franchise and for the fans. The list of movies and TV shows that have been released till now have already managed to attract fans after the director got a lot of hate for letting go of beloved actors. The slate is set to completely reboot the franchise and will take off into a new era for the heroes and villains of DC.

Rumors regarding this slate and another one have already started circulating. It is no secret that Warner Bros. Discovery is going through a rough patch at the moment seeing back-to-back losses. This sprouts the theory of how perhaps the first chapter of the DC Universe is more of a way to attract a crowd and buyers with it rather than to actually build up the franchise fully.

James Gunn Could Have A Secret Slate In Store For Fans

Rumors have once again started stating that the DCU andJames Gunnhave a secret slate that is prepared but, yet to be released. This slate has been kept aside until companies like Amazon and Apple show interest in buying out WBD. The released chapter is a simple way to attract buyers and let them know what could be part of their streaming services and their company if WBD were to merge with them.

“Warner Bros. Discovery allegedly feels the more lucrative option is to rejuvenate the franchises with non-connected properties while still unloading bad inventory so that when a company like Apple or Amazon when they purchase them potentially they get the benefits of a refreshed franchise plus the ability to craft their new cinematic universe in whatever way they choose.”

James Gunn Became The Face Of The DCU To Attract Amazon

If the main goal is for WBD to get bought by other companies, James Gunn becoming the face of the DCU is an essential step to highlight the franchise and its potential. The rumors further stretched out to stating that Gunn has a future slate already prepared with bigger and better projects in line.

The current chapter is only for the movies and shows to be made that could be enjoyed by everyone with no base plan in mind. However, once the buyout takes place, a bigger plan with an idea of where the franchise would be setting off to could take place.
