The interviewer David Marchese questioned how the seven-time Mr. Olympia fame learned the greatness of selflessness.

Arnold Schwarzeneggerloved the question and started to explain how his life was changed after he got associated with the Special Olympics. He explained that he got a call from Wisconsin to be a guest lecturer for Special Olympians. Initially, he thought it was the First Lady Jackie Kennedy who invited him but later he found it to be wrong-“I realized that it was not thatJackie Kennedy.”

However, it was too late to turn around. So the 76-year-old decided to go and teach the Special Olympians which completely changed his perspective towards life. Arnold Schwarzenegger explained that despite not getting any money or career boost, he felt extremely happy to do that.

“I go, and we started teaching Special Olympians how to bench press — the most unbelievable experience. You could see the change in those kids. I was blown away. I went home at night and said to myself: ‘It’s funny that I feel so good about this. I didn’t make any money, and it was not a career move.’ It started there. It has not stopped since.”

Schwarzenegger’s mother-in-law and Maria Shriver’s mother Eunice Kennedy was the founder of the Special Olympics. This enabled him to stay associated with the sport and made a massive contribution to weightlifting in the Special Olympics. He claimed that it was also this that stopped him from being disrespectful towards women.

It is no lie to anyone how the former Governor of California faced an intense backlash after it was revealed that he fathered a son with his housemaid. It was shortly followed by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s separation from his wife Maria Shriver and their divorce was finalized in 2021.

“Looking back, I stepped over the line several times, and I was the first one to say sorry. I feel bad about it, and I apologize. When I became governor, I wanted to make sure that no one, including me, ever makes this mistake.”

The Austrian Oak added that on becoming the governor, he took several steps to ensure such things wouldn’t happen again in the future.

“That’s why we took s*xual harassment courses, to have a clear understanding, from a legal point of view and also from a regular-behavior point of view, of what is accepted and what is not.”

Even though Arnold Schwarzenegger’s journey has been an inspiring one, many women didn’t accept the apology as well. His apology created a mixed reception as the fans couldn’t forgive him for the fuss he had with his wife.
