The post-Endgamescenario of the Marvel Studios has not been very favorable as the studio has struggled to make high bucks from the recent releases. There are several factors on the table but the most obvious could be the superhero fatigue similar to what their rival DC Studios has faced before.

Many critics have claimed that the movie is far from reaching their expectations. However, as the negative headlines dominate the outlets, many have praised the movie as well. The Marvelshas managed to claim a 59% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Still, the dominating negative headlines have been concerning, at least for the MCU fans. They have now come out in support of the movie while claiming the bad reviews are the result of male reviewers who failed to digest the essence of the movie. Of course,The Marvels, led by three female superheroes, has the obvious undertone of feminism and perhaps, it is quite essential to the narrative as well. However, the success-determining factors always remained, will the narrative prompt massive ticket sales?

Brie Larson Fans Slammed All White Men Negative Reviews

Film critic Tessa Smith claimed that most critics were white men at the early screening of the movie. Smith vehemently emphasized the fact that such a one-sided collective approach to reviewing a film could influence the audience in a negative light altering the perception of the narrative.

“I am one of the fresh ratings on RT. Look at the rotten ratings. Mostly men. Mostly white men. At the critic screening last night, multiple men had their mind made up, complaining about watching it before it started,”Smith wrote onX.

It’s really interesting to me that it’s all men who very are actively hating on The Marvels. 🤷‍♀️

The movie isn’t perfect (read my review for my thoughts) but it doesn’t deserve the hate many (men) are giving it.pic.twitter.com/DrRkJWeFVn

Some negative reviews are just weird and carry a disturbing undertone.pic.twitter.com/p1Sb98y49m

I was just saying this about the hate the original Captain Marvel got

They still try to explain it away with, “the movie just wasn’t very good”

People can dislike a movie, but that amount of vitriol comes from somewhere else, and to pretend it doesn’t exist is disingenuous

💯 it’s a lot of fun don’t go in expecting end game but it definitely is better than most of what marvel has put out lately. It is mostly men complaining and the movie not once said girl power there was no agenda they just existed & kicked ass

As a man myself I feel embarrassed and sad. As a fan of the character for 25 years, I could NEVER hate or hope for another movie to fail. They are killing the super hero genre

The Marvel Studios would desperately want to see the cash flow fromThe Marvels. Certainly, the movie isn’t perfect and has several concerns among fans including the runtime, being the shortest MCU movie. However, fans claimed that ‘all male critics’ have attempted to push the movie under a negative impression just because the movie is led by female superheroes.

The Marvelsis scheduled to hit the theaters on 05 August 2025.
