George Clooney, an outstanding actor, has worked with several high-profile directors in the entertainment industry. However, there is one director that the actor doesn’t get along. While working on David O. Russell’s 1999 film,Three Kings, the two artists got into a fight.
Things got heated up on the sets of the movie after Russel yelled at one background actor for not working as per his demands. Clooney then went to support the small actor and things got escalated. In a past interview, Clooney claimed that he was going to “kill him.”
George Clooney got in a fight with David O. Russell
ActorGeorge Clooneysat down for an interview with Playboy in the 2000s and talked about his experience of working with directorDavid O. Russell. Clooney starred in Russell’s 1999 film,Three Kings, and as per Clooney, the director started yelling at a small actor. Clooney said,
“David walked up to him and grabbed him. He pushed him onto the ground. He kicked him and screamed, ‘Do you want to be in this fking movie? Then throw him to the fking ground! The second assistant director came up and said, ‘You don’t do that, David. You want them to do something, you tell me.’ David grabbed his walkie-talkie and threw it on the ground. He screamed, ‘Shut the fk up! Fk you,’ and the AD goes, ‘F**k you! I quit.’ He walked off. It was a dangerous time. I’d sent him this letter. I was trying to make things work, so I went over and put my arm around him. I said, ‘David, it’s a big day. But you can’t shove, push or humiliate people who aren’t allowed to defend themselves.”
Clooney tried to handle the situation by calming down the director, but the director, in turn, attacked Clooney.

George Clooney claimed that he wanted to kill David O. Russell
George Clooney further explained how the scuffle began, and claimed that he grabbed Russell’s throat and wanted to kill him. He said,
“He turned on me and said, ‘Why don’t you just worry about your fked-up act? You’re being a dk. You want to hit me? You want to hit me? Come on, py, hit me.’ I’m looking at him like he’s out of his mind. Then, he started banging me on the head with his head. He goes, ‘Hit me, you py. Hit me.’ Then, he got me by the throat and I went nuts. Waldo, my buddy, one of the boys, grabbed me by the waist to get me to let go of him. I had him by the throat. I was going to kill him. Kill him. Finally, he apologized, but I walked away. By then, the Warner Bros. guys were freaking out. David sort of pouted through the rest of the shoot and we finished the movie, but it was truly, without exception, the worst experience of my life.”
Somehow, the two continued the shoot and finished the movie. The movie grossed $107 million at the global box office on its $48 million budget.

David O. Russell also assaulted Christopher Nolan
David O. Russell has been involved in several controversies over the years. He even assaulted Christopher Nolan at a Hollywood party. Russell reportedly wanted actor Jude Law to star in his movie,I Heart Huckabees(2004), but at the time there were rumors that Law is working with Nolan.
Russell put Nolan in a headlock and wrapped his arm around his neck. He allegedly demanded that Nolan give up on his star to show “artistic solidarity.”
