She-hulk was Created by writer Stan Lee and artist John Buscema, soon grasping the attention of avid comic book readers, becoming a sensation and one of the most notable female characters from the marvel roster since its introduction inThe Savage She-Hulk#1 in Feb of the 80s. Following the announcement of the titular character in MCU’s phase four, the public was engrossed in the debut of Jennifer Walters in live-action.
But instantaneously after its release, the condemnation ofShe-Hulkstretched to ineffable criticisms among the masses, with some pointing out the imprecise depiction of the source material. As it seems the writer ofShe-Hulk’scomic Issues, has some contrary takes on the matter.

She-Hulk writer backed the show amidst heavy denunciation
Dan Slott, famously known for his work inThe Amazing Spider-Manand alsoShe-Hulkcomics, has some thoughts on the public execution of the TV show. The author, who’s been the lead writer for most of Jennifer’s run amidst the comics with 33 solo issues of the character under his belt, making him the most experience with the IP, calls it the most comic-accurate depiction of a character in the frontline MCU. He stated,
“Anyone saying theShe-HulkTV show wasn’t “comic book accurate”… I’m the guy who has written more issues of SHE-HULK than anyone. I’ve read every single comic from every#SheHulkrun. And I’m saying, for the record, it is the MOST comic book-accurate show in the MCU.”
Even considering the abundant fair share of criticisms hovering over the show, comic accuracy would be a minuscule dig. Dan Slott’s statement is partially correct since the TV show ticks all the boxes for the known attributes of Jennifer Walters, from being a confident lawyer who holds her personality unlike Banner while running funny gags and also holding the ability to break the fourth wall. Consequently, it’s reasonable to postulate that amongst its bucket list of flaws, comic accuracy is at the bottom of the barrel.

Comic accuracy isn’t the only key
Perhaps Dan Slott’s claim about comic accuracy is penetrable but an adaptation has to be more than that to justify its existence. Although Tatiana Maslany does a great job portraying the titular character, there is a handful of valid picks that don’t make the series everyone’s cup of tea.
For instance, the plot falls weak as the character does not bounce off well with the supporting cast, with one reasonable take being the show about an attorney doesn’t hold much courtroom drama, corresponding its release with the critically acclaimed showBetter call Saul,which does a much better procedure on the subject, in addition with its CGI flaws, not ridiculous in any sense but in collation with a studio who gave the likes ofThanos,it does come off weak and it’s fourth wall break with funny gags that don’t hit the chords, more of comes as an excuse to dilute the incompetent writing rather than a comic accurate attribute in contrast with the 2022 release ofThe unbearable weight of massive talentwhich does a much better job in handing the meta trope.

while there is some unreasonable hate for one beingtoo woke, even though the usage of woke unironically says a lot about that person rather than being an insult to the work, the woke criticism is an immature, usually bigotry-filled response that makes it all the harder for legitimate feedback on those parts of the show to be heard. the show does share its comic accuracy according to Don Slott, the show in addition to its problem comes off as a mediocre sitcom that can be enjoyed.
