Willem Dafoe is Much More Interested To Play the Joker Imposter
In a candid interview with British GQ, the Oscar-nominated actor, Willem Dafoe, made a surprising revelation about his stance on playing the infamous villain, the Joker some time back. Contrary to fan speculations, Dafoe expressed his disinterest in portraying the Joker character itself.
Instead, he expressed a desire to take on the intriguing role of a Joker imposter in a movie. This unexpected twist opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for the talented actor in the DC universe. He said,

“There is something interesting about, like, if there was a Joker imposter,–So it would be possible to have not dueling Jokers but someone that [claims] to be the Joker that isn’t the Joker. And that kind of opens up the possibility of an interesting story, particularly if you had Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, and then you had someone who was either imitating or riffing off what he did.”
While the actor may not be a complete stranger to playing supervillains, it seems like for the time being the fans are in no luck. However, they are now eagerly anticipating the possibility of seeing him take on the intriguing role of an imposter facing the Joker.
