In a recent revelation, Tallulah Willis bravely shared her journey, which eventually led to her diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

In an emotional penned for Vogue, the artist candidly revealed that she received the BPD diagnosis in June last year. Borderline Personality Disorder is a mental illness that profoundly affects a person’s emotional management, according to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIH).

The daughter of actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore disclosed that her path to diagnosis began during her stay at Driftwood Recovery, a rehabilitation center in Texas. She explained,

“I was introduced to a variety of therapies, my medication was retooled, and I was given a new diagnosis. By the time I left Texas in October, I felt a lot better.”

Opening up about her struggles, she also disclosed that she had battled depression since her early teens. She intensely recalled a vital moment when her perception of herself was shattered after reading critical comments about her appearance on style websites. She said,

“I remember reading for two hours, believing that I had stumbled onto a truth about myself that no one had told me because they were trying to protect me. I told no one. I just lived with the silent certainty of my ugliness.”

Her candid disclosure sheds light on the challenging experiences and emotional turmoil that led her to seek professional help and ultimately receive a BPD diagnosis.
