Keanu Reeves is known for his appearances in various blockbuster movies. However, his Hollywood journey was not always a cakewalk, as he had seen his own share of challenges and struggles. The actor once revealed that he was coerced into being a part of a flop film due to a forged signature on the agreement.
The initial period of Reeves’ career was no less than a rollercoaster ride. There were times when the actor was at the peak of his career, but there were also moments when he hit rock bottom.

Keanu Reevesis a big name in the Hollywood industry. With his impeccable performances in his movies and power-packed action scenes, the actor is popularly known as one of the best action stars in the film industry. Still, that doesn’t mean that reaching this stardom was a piece of cake for him.
Throughout his career, the actor has appeared in numerous films, some of which became blockbusters while others fell short of meeting audience expectations. After the huge success of his 1994 film,Speed,fans expected the actor to reprise his role in the sequel to the film,Speed 2: Cruise Control.
His rejection of the film came as a surprise for his fans, Some even thought that Reeves had made a big mistake by turning down the film. However, the rejection turned out to be in Reeves’ favor, as the film was a bomb at the box office. Though the actor was spared from appearing in flop films here, it wasn’t very long before his films, 1995’sJohnny Mnemonic,and 1996’sChain Reactionsaw a drastic fall at the box office.

Even after giving two consecutive flops, the actor didn’t lose hope, and with his 1999 film,The Matrix, he made a triumphant comeback. Yet again, the period of success didn’t last much longer, as just after a year, Reeves once again saw turbulence in his career.
In 2000, the actor starred in the sports comedy filmThe Replacements.Although the film received mixed reviews, it turned out to be a loss for Reeves, as he took a substantial pay cut to ensure that the production could afford Gene Hackman. But this wasn’t the end of some of his miserable projects, as the actor was once tricked into doing a film.

Keanu Reeves unwillingly had to do a film
During an interview, Keanu Reeves revealed that he was tricked into doing a film, which failed miserably at the box office. Reeves was cast in the 2000 filmThe Watchers,in which he played the role of a serial killer.
During an interview, the actor claimed that he unwillingly took up the project and was apparently unhappy with the film. The actor said,
“I never found the script interesting, but a friend of mine forged my signature on the agreement. I couldn’t prove he did, and I didn’t want to get sued. So I had no other choice but to do the film.”
According to some sources, Reeves felt that he was not happy with his role as a killer in the film.
