During the shooting of the entire film, theAquamanstar had to were a corset that would shrink her waist to a mere 18 inches, which meant that stress was being applied too severely to her ribs. This, in turn, broke one of her ribs while she was shooting for a scene. She said:

“I’m dancing inhigh heels, I broke my ribs, I tore up my knee. I did all the things you’re meant to do while creating great art,”

Apart from this, while she was performing for the choreographed section in the film that featured Marylnn Monroe’s song Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend, she broke another two, making it a total of three ribs and a torn knee.
