The Skinburster Force trait grants the party member using this weapon 2 turns of Force Conduit on a successful hit. In BG3, Force Conduit is a condition that grants you 1 point of damage reduction on Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing per turn remaining.

Furthermore, if you have 5 or more stacks of Force Conduit and are hit with Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing damage, then you will deal 1d4 Force damage in a 6-meter radius. To get The Skinburster in BG3, you must reachCrèche Y’llekduring Act 1 and find a way into the Inquisitor’s Chambers. To do this, you’ll need to disable a barrier in the Captain’s Quarters on the eastern side of the Creche. Keep in mind that entering the Inquisitor’s Chambers will progress the story and may turn the Creche hostile toward you. Therefore, it’s important to fully explore the area and visit the doctor in the Infirmary to use the Zaith’isk Chair and gain theAwakenedbonus.

Step 1- How to Reach the Inquisitor’s Chambers

Next, head to the east side of the Crèche and find the Captain’s Quarters. Speak to Kith’rak Therezzyn, and choose whether to hand over the Astral Prism or not. Moreover, you can antagonize her into a fight and loot the Githyanki Barrier Disruptor. Another option is that you can pickpocket it from her instead.

Then, take the Githyanki Barrier Disruptor to the console near the archway and use it to open the barrier.

Make your way down the stone path into the Inquisitor’s Chambers. Once inside the large room, don’t attempt to explore first. The Inquisitor is not a patient Githyanki. Speak to him, and then play the extended scene out.

The best way to use The Skinburster in BG3 is by equipping it to a frontline melee character like aFighterorBarbarian. Fighters would be especially good at building stacks of Force Conduit. The addition of Action Surge at Level 2 gives you another action once per short rest. Thus, another hit with The Skinburster. Moreover, at Level 5 you will get Extra Attack, which allows Fighters to make an additional attack every turn.

Consequently, by Level 5, a Fighter class using The Skinbuster could get 4 turns of Conduit Force on a single turn. Furthermore, if you then trigger your Action Surge, you will get two more hits. This would result in a stack of 8 turns of Conduit Force. A single hit by any enemy that deals Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing damage could potentially trigger the area-of-effect Force damage.
