1. Find Mouse Pointer on Windows With Native Options

Windows comes with a hidden setting that will let you quickly find the location of the mouse pointer. It’s free and comes built-in.

2.In the Settings app, click onBluetooth and devicesoption in the sidebar, then select theMouseoption in it.

3.Under the Mouse settings, click onAdditional mouse settings.

4.It will open a Mouse Properties window. Here select thePointer Optionstab.

5.Now enable the toggle beside theShow location of the pointer when I press the CTRL key.

6.Finally, click onApplyand thenOKto save changes. You can also close the Settings app after that.

Moving forward, to locate the mouse pointer, simply press the Ctrl button on your keyboard. You should see a circle animation around your mouse pointer on the screen making it easier to find.

2. Find Mouse Pointer on Windows Using PowerToys

While you’re able to find the mouse pointer with the native option, using PowerToys gives a few unique advantages. It grabs more attention than a normal circle, adds the ability to control the appearance and behavior of the circle, and customizes the activation method.

Also, PowerToys was developed by Microsoft but then open-sourced later. It comes with a number of tools and features likeextracting text from anywhere, finding outwhich program is currently using the file/folder,renaming multiple files in one go, and more.

1.First, you need to download thePowerToys app from GitHub. You can download it from theMicrosoft Storetoo, but it is usually a few versions behind.

2.On the GitHub page, scroll down to the Assets section. If your PC has an X64 processor, click onPower Toys Setup X64. If you have an ARM processor, click onPower Toys Setup ARM64option. Then click on theSavebutton in the pop-up to save the setup file.

4.Now open PowerToys and click on theMouse Utilitiesoption in the sidebar.

5.Here enable the toggle besideEnable Find My Mouse.

6.Then beside the Activation Method option, you’re able to either choose thePress Left Control Twiceoption or theShake Mouseoption. The feature will be enabled and helps you find your mouse pointer when you use that selected shortcut.

7.Once done, use the method you have selected to find your mouse pointer. It throws a spotlight on your mouse pointer making it easier to find.

8.In case, you want to make any changes to its appearance, click on theAppearance & behavioroption. Under it, you may adjust the background color, spotlight color, radius, opacity, animation, etc.

That’s it, now when you use the activation shortcut, it shows a spotlight around your mouse pointer according to your customized appearance.

In case, you want to double press the control button or shake the mouse in any other apps, you can exclude those apps from PowerToys. So when you are using these excluded apps, find my mouse will not activate and show a spotlight around the pointer.
