It’s just a standard since it was used in typewriters and now has carried on to phones and computers. But what if you want to experiment and try your hands on some new layouts on your computer? It’s fairly easy to change the layout of the keyboard in Windows 10. To begin with,open the start menu, search for settings, and open it.
Now, from the Windows setting options, selectTime & Language and click on language from the left sidebar.
On the language setting screen, look for the Preferred Languages option andclick on English or any other default language you have selected, and click on options
You’ll see Keyboards tab at the bottom with QWERTY (US) as an option. This means that you’re currently using the standard QWERTY layout. To change the layout,click on add keyboard which will open a pop-up keyboard layout option.Nowchoose the layout you wish to add, in our case, I’ve selected the Dvorak layout.
Once you select a new layout, it’ll appear in the keyboards tab. Remember, you can choose more than one layout if you wish.

Once you’re done selecting the keyboard layout in Windows 10 you wish to use, there is no need to go through the long arduous process that we discussed again. As soon as you add multiple keyboard layouts, you’ll see a new keyboard option at the extreme right corner of the Taskbar. You can click on that icon and choose the layout you want.

How to Remove a Keyboard Layout in Windows 10
If you’re simply experimenting and wish to stick to the standard QWERTY type keyboard, you can keep the keyboard layout to standard. Otherwise, you can remove the layout by following the same steps as you did while adding a new one.
Go to settings, click on Time & Language option, and select language from the sidebar. From the preferred language default language, click on options. Select the layout from the keyboard section and click on remove. That’s it. You’ve successfully removed the layout. Easy right?
