The film is will be produced by Universal and even though no official date has been out fans continue to theorize about the possible cast, storylines, and plot.
Henry Cavill and J.K. Simmons are the biggest contenders for Omni-Man
WithInvincible, an animated version of Robert Kirkman’s superhero comic series, Amazon Prime Video achieved great success. It features Steven Yeun as Mark Greyson, a teenager who discovers that he inherited superpowers from his superhuman father, Omni-Man. In Season 1, Mark starts to forge his superhuman persona while managing a typical human existence.
Amazon has already put in an order for two more seasons, strengthening its commitment to the show. Will there ever be a live-action version, though? Yes, according to Kirkman, though he cautions that it is still early in the game Kirkman said two years during Comic-Con@Home.

“I’m not telling! This is another one of those things that’s a little early going but I will say that there are massive efforts going in to make sure that the film experience is unique [and separate from the animated series]…while also being true to Invincible. I couldn’t be more excited about the stuff that we’re doing but I can’t tell you yet.”
As exciting as the news is there is no cast has been officially announced for this, and neither has it been confirmed but no one can stop fans from speculating. TheInvinciblefans have begun casting stars as various characters in the show, including Omni-Man.

It could be why artist Jeol Dart shared onInstagramthis fan-art/concept-art with Cavill as Omni-Man. Many did point out that J.K. Simmons, who voice the character in the animated series, should play him in the film. Cavill does not look mean enough whereas Simmons is ripped and looks mean enough for the role. He also has more experience playing Omni-Man.

There was no news for a while about the film which got the fans of the show worried. Even though the creator of the comic books did not give a date last time, two years is a long time. However, when asked about the film in another recent interview the creator revealed that it happening. The film is in the pipeline and even though it is taking a little longer than expected the immense success of the sand only helped the process.

“We’re very much still working on that. Sometimes movies take a little bit longer. I think it’s safe to say, if anything, the show has just helped that immensely. People are very excited about that movie potential at Universal. So we’re riding that excitement and trying to push things forward as quickly as possible.”
Invincibleis under development at Universal Pictures and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are still attached to write theInvinciblelive-action movie. Rogen is also the executive producer for Amazon Prime’s show and gives voice to Allen, the Alien inInvincible.
