Turns out, the James Bond star Daniel Craig evidently agrees with theJason Bournestar Matt Damon, about Bond being a misogynist. Although a great detective, the two stars seemingly came to the conclusion that Bond is not the best when it comes to respecting women or having moral values. Many have spoken against the cold-blooded spy, but Craig added himself to the list of‘Bond-hater’,after the fourth movie of the installment staring himself released into the theatres.

Daniel Craig Claims James Bond is a Misogynist

Back in 2015, while speaking with The Red Bulletin during a promotional interview to promote the fourth installment of the Bond franchise starringDaniel Craig, he reminded everyone of Bond’s true nature. He claimed everyone’s favorite 007, is actually not worth rooting for when it comes to having good morals. He said,

“Let’s not forget that he’s actually a misogynist,–A lot of women are drawn to him chiefly because he embodies a certain kind of danger and never sticks around for too long.”

Craig stated the very nature that attracts women towards him, makes him a far more unattractive human being. Thus, in his own opinion, he isn’t a fan of the thrill-loving spy. He then furthermore claimed how tiring it has been to portray the character, thus, desired to take a break following the release. He continued,

“What I need right now is to stop working, relax and get back to normal life,–There’s one thing I actually find more exciting than Bond at the moment, going home.”

Why does Matt Damon Hate James Bond?

Matt Damoncited the same reason as Daniel Craig for disliking the iconic character, James Bond. In an interview with GQ, the actor was asked what his views were on his fellow spy, and he did not shy away from stating exactly what he thinks. He then further stated why he likes Bourne more than Bond, despite the former lacking in popularity. Damon said,

“I like Bourne better than Bond. Bourne has today’s values; Bond has the values of the 1960s. Daniel’s Bond has upgraded him and brought him more into the present, but, classically, that character is a misogynist who likes swilling martinis and killing people and not giving a sh*t.”

Although he appreciated, Craig’s version of the character, he made it pretty clear that he wasn’t a fan. Damon then went on to state why he liked Bourne better saying,

“Whereas Jason Bourne is a serial monogamist – and he’s tortured by the things he’s done and feels empathy and compassion for other people. And Bourne would obviously win in a fight.”

Now that Daniel Craig has served his time, although the usual‘Who is the next James Bond’still continues to haunt the internet, the question of whether there should be one also rises undeniably among the fans.
