Call of Dutyis one of the most popular gaming franchises in the world, and also the most financially successful gaming franchise created in the United States. There are twenty two games in the core series, with the first game releasing all the way back in 2003. The franchise has gone from strength to strength since then, with sales being consistently high andCall of Dutyeven managing to enter the Guinness Book of World records as the bestselling FPS (first person shooter) series ever.

Not all titles in the series were successful though, at least in the eyes of fans. Some games are definitely better remembered than others, and ultimately that’s what defines their legacy: how gamers think ofCall of Dutygames in the years gone by. Naturally, this is a highly subjective matter, with everyone having different tastes and different wants from a particular video game. There was a recent poll on Twitter/X which asked fans about the worstCall of Dutygame in their eyes. Surprisingly, this unwanted crown didn’t go toCall of Duty: Ghostsas it would have at one point. As the tweets above have shown, the worst ratedCall of Dutygames are indeedInfinite Warfare, Advanced Warfare,andVanguard.It’s also worth noting thatGhosts,once the likeliest game to get that tag, has some fans as some players have grown to like it.
Why were these games voted as the worst Call of Duty games?
Most fans who took part in the poll did not give a reason for their vote. However, a few of them did and their reasons ranged from a lackluster single player campaign to a multiplayer component that couldn’t establish its own identity to a poor zombies mode. Additionally, certain gameplay features being added or conversely removed could have also a played a part, as could have the fact that certain content/DLC was exclusive either to Xbox or PlayStation.
Although few in number, some fans cited theModern Warfarereboot series as well, the third game of which is set to launch in November this year. Primarily, though, players stuck toInfinite Warfare, Advanced Warfare,andVanguard.
