The Musical Sequence inThe MarvelsWas Initially Longer
Reports ahead of the release ofThe Marvelsrevealed that the movie went through week-long reshoots.SlashFilmhas recently revealed that the musical sequence in the movie was originally much longer and more elaborate.
The MarvelsstarIman Vellanishared that the scene was cut for the film’s theatrical release.“There’s a longer version of the Aladna dance,” she said. And like many fans who defended Briel Larson’s musical number in the film, Vellani was also very excited about it.
“They sent me the song, and it’s so good. Then we had a week or two of filming the Aladna scene, when Carol, Monica, and Kamala arrived for the first time, and they started bringing on the song. That thing goes for a couple of minutes, and it’s a long take.”
However, the whole sequence did not make it to the final cut.“I wish they would release the full version of the dance,”she said, expressing her disappointment with the cut, as she shared that she is a “musical theatre nerd”and loved the whole sequence.
