Fans have loved Zack Snyder’s vision for DCU since the release of his first DC film,Man of Steelstarring Henry Cavill as the fan-favorite Superman. He established the cinematic universe with multiple movies and was set to unite the superheroes against the supervillain Steppenwolf and his army in the 2017 filmJustice League. Unfortunately, Snyder had to leave the film mid-production. However, he did represent what he had in plan for the movie with the 2021 version of the film, which was also very much liked by the fans.

As some of the last films based under the Snyderverse are set to release, the director explained the plot hole inBatman v. Superman: Dawn of Justicethat has left fans wondering about the backstory of that particular scene from the film.

Zack Snyder Explains The Flash Scene inDawn of Justice
During a Q&A session at SnyderCon,Zack Snyderwas asked if the Snyderverse fans would ever see the backstory of The Flash’s cameo in the 2016 DC filmBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The scene features Barry Allen warning Bruce Wayne about a future version of Superman.
Snyder explained that theJustice Leaguesequel would have explained everything about that scene. He described the scene, saying that The Flash would be getting ready to go back in time when Bruce Wayne asks him about the“two possible windows”and which one he would have“gone through if [he] didn’t say anything.”TheWatchmandirector further said,

“And [Barry Allen] said, ‘Well, we were gonna go through this one.’ And [Bruce Wayne] said, ‘Don’t go through that one! You went through it and it didn’t work! So go through the other one!’”
He also explained it would have caused him to land at the“correct moment”in the past and prove that he is from the future by telling Bruce Wayne that he is the father of Lois Lane’s child. Snyder had also talked about the scene before, where he explained that Flash was there to warn Batman not to kill Lois Lane, as her death would lead to chaos in the future.

Fans Don’t Accept Zack Snyder’s Explanation
As the director explains the significance and the purpose behind the scene in the 2016 movie, fans do not seem satisfied with the whole scenario. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts and started questioning Zack Snyder’s explanation. They asked what really was the “plothole” in the scene, and some stated that the makers should have simply removed the scene from the film.
He could have fixed this plothole by just removing this fucking scene, it made no sense at the time, the Flash was unrecognizable, it was completely unneeded and pointless since it amounts to nothing in BvS and JL, and JL2 would have shown it again anyway

What plothole? It was specifically used for JL 2 because Snyder actually had a plan and a story, unlike others.

Is “plot hole” the right term here? I thought it was setup for Justice League’s 2 and 3. The reveal being that The Flash has gone back in time countless times trying and failing to avoid Superman’s corruption and/or the Darkseid War, and we get to see it finally work in JL3.

yaaaaaa. definitely not a plot hole. watch the movie again. it’s very straight forward on either edition of the movie.

It wasn’t a plot hole if it was setting up an event for future films to explain. Everyone is just used to stuff like that happening in post credit scenes.

Fans claimed that the scene makes no sense toDawn of JusticeandJustice League, and they could have seen it in theJustice Leaguesequel. They also said including the scene in the film was completely“unneeded and pointless.”
Some fans also pointed out that it should not be a plot hole but a setup for theJustice Leaguesequel and threequel. Although it set the plot for the futureJustice Leaguemovies, fans might never see these events fold out on screen due to James Gunn’s DCU reboot.
