Christopher Nolan’sOppenheimerhas everyone hyped up would be an understatement, for the film starring Cillian Murphy has everyone biting their nails in anticipation. With a star-studded cast of some of the most talented people on earth to Nolan’s incredible storytelling,Oppenheimerhas been deemed as the perfect combination for a blockbuster, gut-wrenching, bone-chilling, and nerve-wracking film in history.

While the movie hasn’t been released yet, the world premiere of the flick took place in Paris, France. And reviews began pouring upon Twitter. While most have been applauding the movie, declaring it the best Nolan movie yet, French critics have predicted it to be the lowest-grossing Nolan movie ever.

The box office has been in crumbles lately. With overly hyped and extremely anticipated movies likeThe FlashandIndiana Jone and the Dial of Destinyfailing miserably, the French critics have held onto the fact and predict it as the downfall ofChristopher Nolan‘s best film ever.Oppenheimerwas screened just a while ago in Paris for its world premier, and the critics have some very not nice things to say.

What everyone seemed to agree upon was that the film is extremely dense, so much so that it may leave the viewers mentally exhausted and troubled. While it is easy to understand, it does not lack any of its typical Nolan characteristics. Even though it is far from being just a biopic, critics seem to argue the film is not commercial.
The reason behind its non-commerciality is that the film is supposedly too dark, too cold, and lacks any enthralling action sequences. Rather than action, the film instead has brilliantly crafted but painfully long dialogues that might have the audience aversive to it.

And hence,Oppenheimerhas been declared as every bit extraordinary as Christopher Nolan films generally are, but the frail box office condition coupled with the movie’s ‘apparent drawbacks’, has had critics predict it as the lowest-grossing film of Nolan’s career.

While Critics Declare It As A Fail, Audience Reaction Says Otherwise
After the world premiere in Paris,Oppenheimerkicked off another debate. While critics have been predicting it to be a sort-of failure, audience reactions have been only positive till now. Most declared it as one of the most incredible and electrifying movies yet that offers the most ferocious cinematic experience ever.
WhileCillian Murphyhas been praised and regarded as the perfect person for the perfect film ever, people have hailed the film worth the three-hour-long runtime.Oppenheimeris being hailed as the best World War II film that offers an intimate look into the terrifying experience.
While the female characters have been ‘lacking’ and ‘badly served’,Oppenheimeris still nonetheless worth every bit of that expensive IMAX premium ticket, as per the audience.
Who emerges a victor in this debate of whetherOppenheimerwill become Christopher Nolan’s greatest movie or not, will only be known after its release on June 09, 2025.
