No role showcases his acting capabilities better than his portrayal in the 2000 film thriller film,American Psycho. Bale plays the role of Patrick Bateman, an unreliable narrator, whose psychopathic tendencies start to get out of hand, resulting in him losing his touch with reality and having some very grotesque urges. It would seem, however, that the actor may have also gotten used to some very odd things, including hanging out with the cast and crew in some very inappropriate clothing.

Christian Bale Went Way Into His Method Acting During American Psycho

American Psycohas many extremely unsettling scenes that are eerily memorable, from Patrick Bateman explaining his morning routine, to his weirdly interesting inner monologues. However, one of the most significant scenes for his character has to be the one where his character goes ham with a chainsaw. The film slowly builds up a lot of things till that point we finally see the severity of the descent of his madness. We see him, naked, running around an apartment complex with a chainsaw, covered in blood.

The scene must have taken quite a long time it shoot, due to the number of different locations and the chase that includes. It is because of this that it is extremely surprising to find out that in between takes,Christian Balewould casually hang out with the cast and crew in exactly what he was wearing in the shot, which was nothing. It was revealed that the actor would stand around in nothing but modesty socks and tennis shoes, all the while happily talking to the many people around him.

Christian Bale Surprised Everyone

This wasn’t the only time that Christian Bale left the cast and crew stunned as many were completely surprised by the actor after production finished on the film. The actor, known for his method acting, put on an American accent for this role, which remained constant throughout filming, on and off camera. This meant that many people did not know that the actor was actually from England and had an English accent.

This news was broken to them at the wrap party. When the actor opened his mouth and started talking, many people were confused, thinking that Bale had taken up a new project that required him to have an English accent and that was the reason why he was speaking the way he did. This, obviously, was not the case and many were surprised to learn the truth. Bale can, however, take this as a compliment about how good his American accent is.
