Larson shared the physical exhaustion of playing a superhero, hanging on ropes all day long.
Besides Larson, Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris star in this female-led superhero movie from the MCU. The stars are now able to actively promote their movie following the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA strikes on November 8th.

Brie Larsonwas elated to discuss her latest appearance as Captain Marvel inThe Marvelsafter the actors’ strike ended. Larson appeared onThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,where she promoted her newly released movie. Larson shared some of the interesting behind-the-scenes stories from the movie and later delved into what she hated most about the role.
Jimmy Fallonreminded theRoomactress about the time he asked her about hanging from wires forCaptain Marvel, to which she replied with“a lot”. Larson revealed that she had to undergo the same amount of physical challenges for this movie. She revealed that playing a superhero meant enduring an“eternal wedgie”due to hanging from ropes for flying scenes.
TheFast Xactress explained that she had to adopt a plank pose while flying, which proved physically excruciating. Larson underwent extensive training to build her core strength for the action sequences. Kimmel even showed some footage of the actress in training and on set, performing the challenging scenes. “But just to anybody out there who’s, like, thinking of becoming a superhero or like you’re a superhero, and then, suddenly, you can fly, like, just know it means an eternal wedgie for everything you ever do after that. Like, you just don’t think about it. You’re like, ‘Cool! I can fly. Wow!’ And then you’re like, ‘Oh, no! Actually, this is so uncomfortable.’ I’m in a full-body plank, and it’s just… It’s a lot of core strength, folks. It’s a lot. It’s a lot.”
The strikes significantly impacted the promotional efforts for the film, resulting in a record-low presale figure. Larson and Marvel Studios expect the movie to perform better in the coming days to break even at the box office.
