There have been a lot of controversies surrounding the visual effects of modern movies, and the latest victim of public scrutiny is DC’sThe Flashmovie starring Ezra Miller. The production for the upcoming project was not smooth sailing; in fact, it experienced several delays and even possible cancelation from Warner Bros.

Now that the movie is only a few weeks away from its worldwide premiere, several teasers and promotional pictures are starting to make their rounds on social media. One thing that left fans riled up so badly is the film’s own VFX.

DC Fans Are ComparingThe FlashMovie’s Visual Effects With Zack Snyder’s Version
It looks like fans are not satisfied withThe Flashmovie’s graphics and visual effects, and some are comparing it to the work of Zack Snyder. Ezra Miller starred as Barry Allen inJustice Leaguein 2017, and seeing there have been changes in the costume and overall vibe of the character, fans could not help but make comparisons.
A user from Twitter posted a collage ofThe Flash’s photos begging comic book movies to “do better thanZack Snyder”:

Every single frame of the Flash looks mid at best. Do not compare a great CBM filmmaker like Zack Snyder to a guy who has yet to get one released, and 2 months out from release still looks like it needs another year in post production.

Ezra Millerwill reprise their role as Barry Allen, who uses his superpowers to travel back in time to prevent the murder of his mother. This rash decision, however, causes disturbances in the order of things, altering the future and creating a multiverse.
Based on the iconicFlashpointevent, Barry finds himself in a reality in which General Zod has returned. There are no other superheroes left, except for a retired different version of Batman and an imprisoned Kryptonian.
The first official trailer premiered at the Super Bowl LVII, which served as a feast for every DC fan because not only it featured a first look atMichael Keaton’s highly-anticipated return as the Caped Crusader, but alsoBen Affleck’s version. It also confirmed the return of Michael Shannon’s General Zod and Sasha Calle’s debut as Supergirl. The trailer was filled with action-packed sequences that lasted nearly three minutes.
Helmed by Andy Muschietti,The Flashwill be the second DC movie of the year followingShazam: Fury of the Gods. There are still other remaining projects left from the DCEU for the year, but as far as the new DC Universe is concerned, a sequel to the Ezra Miller-led film is also reportedly in the works.
Warner Bros. is showing confidence inThe Flashas the movie finds itself an early screening two months before its theatrical release. The event will take place during CinemaCon 2023 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas from April 24 to April 27.
The Flashwill premiere worldwide on June 11, 2025.
