At the end of every calendar year, entertainment sites and pages begin developing their list of the most-anticipated films for the following year. 2018 is going to be filled to-the-brim with countless potential shared among the year’s blockbusters. Ticket site Fandango has now officiallyreleasedtheir most-anticipated 2018 list and, unsurprisingly, two of the threeMarvelCinematic Universe movies took the top two spots.

In the #2 spot isBlack Panther, the February 16th release which may come as a shock to some being so high on the list, but given it’s incredible marketing campaign (so far) and excitement that this may be the Marvel film to return to a darker, grittier formula similarly seen in earlier MCU movies such asIron Man(2008) andCaptain America: The Winter Soldier(2014). The films also boasts and incredible cast, such as Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther himself), Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, and Forest Whitaker, which is another cog in the hype gear for the film.

ButAvengers: Infinity Warholding the #1 spot on Fandango’s list holds no surprises to the MCU’s greatest haters; even those who are not superhero crazy understand the excitement and importance of a film of this scale.Infinity Warwill be the culmination of everything that has come before it in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an incredible cast headlined by franchise vets such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlet Johansen, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth, and even Chris Pratt as he brings on his team, the Guardians of the Galaxy, to join the fight.Avengers: Infinity Warwill be released May 4th, and it will be interesting to see how both the domestic and international box offices stand against the might of Thanos.

The remaining eight films on Fandango’s list may also have been predictable, with titles such asJurassic World: Fallen Kingdomand the UntitledDeadpoolSequel (which may in-fact be the actual title), following closely behind.

The #10 spot is interesting however, as that spot is currently held for the all-female reboot of the Ocean’s franchise,Ocean’s 8,which has been the sight of controversial concern since previous all-female attempts were not quite as proven to be successful, the obvious example being the 2016 “reboot” ofGhostbusters. But this is rather observation as opposed to a political discussion, and given the cast and possibly good marketing,Ocean’s 8could actually have a good amount of success when it hits theaters on June 8th.
