Dragon Ballis a franchise that has been entertaining audiences for the past few decades and continues to do so. The genius writing of none other than Akira Toriyama always leaves fans wondering what is going to happen next.
While the series is often simplified down to “just an anime with a lot of power-ups and battles“, Toriyama has always given fans more than that. When it comes to the element of surprise inDragon Ball, the creator often has a few tricks up his sleeve. One of the earliest examples of it is when we saw something that none expected, the revival of Goku after he died in the original series.
The mangaka has managed to pull off this same trick once again, with many fans disappointed as to why there was an entire arc before this current ongoingDragon Ball Supermanga arc, where Goten and Trunks were introduced with their new personas, the latest chapter reveals the entire purpose of the said arc.

Akira Toriyama’s Latest Work Reveals Reason Behind Goten And Trunks Prequel Arc
The arc which introduced Goten and Trunks in their new personas called Saiyaman X1 and X2 was used as a prequel to set up the upcomingDragon Ballfilm at the time. This is something that left the fans upset, as many thought it was an unnecessary addition.
However, recentDragon Ballchapter 97 has brought to light something no one knew before. The chapter showcases Goten and Trunks in their superhero personas and their silly costumes pulling off an insane attack in combination with Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 against Cell Max. It was at this moment that Android Gamma 1 and Android Gamma 2 made their own remarks on the two superheroes, saying that they were the ones that Dr. Hedo based the design of his own androids on.

How Was Dr. Hedo Able To Replicate The Saiyaman To His Own Androids
The genius writing ofAkira Toriyamabrings us back to the prequel arc, where Goten and Trunks were being introduced earlier. As it turns out, Dr. Hedo’s obsession with superheroes allowed him to observe the Saiyaman closely as he fought with them during the prequel arc, allowing him to put their qualities and features in his own androids.
It should also be noted that the recent chapter not only gives an insight into how the Gamma Androids came to be but also finally gives both Goten and Trunks their own time to be in the spotlight for once, especially after they were just used as comic relief characters in the latestDragon Ballmovie.
